PART III: Rearing the Insects

The rearing area at Girls and Boys Town were pits that could hold water and simulate the conditions necessary to support the host plants. As the plants were placed in the pits, a net was placed over them. The nets would allow the plants to continue to grow and hold the insects to their host plant.

Because of differing plant heights, insects were released in two batches, two weeks apart.   20 Insects were release into each container.
